Praveen Kumar has been rated as one of the Top 10 stand up comedians in India by Times of India and one of top 10 comics in India to look out for by IBN live. He has also been nominated for Forbes Top 100 celebrities in India. Hailing from Bangalore, he has done about 1400 shows all around the globe. He started doing comedy on stage from his BITS Pilani days, where he used to do comedy mimes. After he passed out from college, he felt a a void in his life. He always wanted to do something related to comedy and hence got married 🤣. But seriously he started doing stand up comedy from 2009 onwards.
Mr Family Man is Praveen’s fifth special show. August 2019 will be his first tour to Australia! This Kanchipuram boy has been a stand up comedian for nearly 10 years now. He says,
I make sure that my shows are clean comedies. Adult jokes don’t excite me any more. And since I want families to enjoy my shows, I steer clear of anything that can embarrass parents and children in each other’s company.
His clean humour makes him favourite among the Corporates and family audience. His shows are suitable for the entire family (ages 6+ years and above).
Much of it is from my personal experience. For instance, I will talk about what I did when a rat entered our kitchen or what happened when I took my wife for shopping. That will make it relatable to everyone.
After successful sold out shows across India, Singapore and Malaysia, Mr. Family Man is coming to Oz this August! Written in both Tamil and English, the show is about how a ‘family man’ is also a superhero like Batman or Superman.
Especially because of the challenges he faces everyday, from the kind of responsibilities he manages to the relationships he maintains with not just friends and relatives but also with the driver, plumber or the carpenter. So it’s basically a comical take on his daily struggles
